Thank you for this outlook on this beautiful Psalm. When I reacquainted my self with Christian faith (as a Methodist back in 2001), a Christian sibling introduced me to the work of RC Sproul, who taught that God (as the Father) did indeed turn His face away from God (as the Son) and poured out His wrath on Him, and indeed I held to that view for a time until another friend told me about this view you described here. Over time I became aware (especially since converting to Orthodoxy) that as One God, there is one will among all three: Father, Son, and Spirit; that the Father loves the Son (all the time!), and while Jesus did die for our sins, He did it in order to destroy death (the ultimate jailbreak!), and not to be punished for them.

I hate to say that I had no clue about the "title" bit or the whole psalm implied in that one line. Thank you!
