Home Again!
by your holy prayers
I’m back!
To start at the beginning: a week ago today I was taken to ER with what turned out to be septic colitis. The sepsis was quickly resolved and the colitis gotten under control, but I have another week of antibiotics. I came home Thursday.
I went back to ER yesterday with vasculitis--you might remember that I had a roaring case of vasculitis 5 years ago, and my nose was red as a strawberry. I was told to do rest and elevation, but realized later I should have asked how much elevation. My husband thinks it means 24/7 with bathroom breaks (I need to keep that eyeroll emoji handy), and AI tells me it’s 3-4 times a day for 15-30 minutes. I see my PCP tomorrow morning so I’ll get more guidance then.
What I’m becoming more aware of is some kind of pain or injury in my right shin. On that previous Saturday night I stumbled in the dark, and I hadn’t really noticed till now that it hurts--once, so badly I couldn’t put any weight on it. I tried asking about it in ER yesterday and they regarded me as an opioid criminal. I am realizing I need to go to a walk-in Orthopedic clinic.
I can’t thank you enough for all your prayers and kind thoughts. Overall it was a good “pilgrimage.” I got lots of prayer done, nothing but prayer for hours. It was God’s plan for me. Sometimes his plans take us by surprise.
I hope to drop in on church today just to show that I’m doing OK. I feel so surrounded by love.
